World ATM 2014 in Madrid in March was a success for Tern Systems and this year we had a stand that was designed as a airport runway. We met with many clients and prospective clients from all around the world and our displays, particularly our Tern System Tower Simulator display received a lot of attention. We also had a couple of air marshals creating a buzz in the exhibition hall with their antics.
Furthermore, we are pleased to announce that a cooperation contract was signed between Tern Systems and our mother company Isavia and the Mohammed VI International Academy of Civil Aviation in Morocco, which will strengthen and develop our already existing cooperation.
Tern Systems along with our mother company Isavia, will be at the World ATM 2014 exhibition in Madrid on March 4.-7th. We will be demonstrating both our ATC systems and simulators and our visitors can get a good view of our product range with the help of our experienced ATC controllers and training specialist from both Tern Systems and Isavia.
Make sure you catch us at stand no. 416 on the left hand side from the entrance. We look forward to meet you!
On the 24th of August, Isavia Training and ATS Procedures finished validation and accepted Tern Systems latest version of the TSIM ATC training simulator, into operation. Isavia will immediately start using this version of the TSIM ATC training simulator, during training and re-training of air traffic controllers in tower, approach and en-route training.
Isavia Training and ATS Procedures have been using Tern Systems TSIM ATC training simulator for 12 years. In the Isavia training facility, TSIM is responsible for interfacing with Isavia’s operational systems, such as surveillance processing, flight data processing and datalink systems, providing data feed and response to messages such as coordination to adjacent centers. With the TSIM ATC training simulator, Isavia is able to maintain a high-fidelity training environment for air traffic controllers.
The TSIM simulator also provides a realistic visualization of airports, for tower training. At Isavia’s training facility, this includes Keflavík international airport, Reykjavík airport and Akureyri airport.
On 23rd of August, Tern Systems completed the upgrade of the TSIM ATC training simulator, at the Korea Airport Corporation (KAC) facilities in Jeju, South-Korea. KAC has been using the TSIM simulator for the training of air traffic controllers, in an environment that includes Tern ATC Automation System (TAS) and Tern Voice Communication Simulator (ComSim), for the last 5 years.
Along with the upgrade, KAC personnel received training in the operation of the simulator, with focus on new functionality added in this version of TSIM. Following installation and training, a site acceptance test was completed successfully.
Jeju airport is the second busiest airport in South-Korea, with close to 20 million passengers passing through it each year. On top of that, Jeju airport is part of the busiest air route in the world (Jeju – Seoul). The TSIM ATC training simulator allows KAC to prepare air traffic controllers during unit training, in the operation of the TAS system, that is the main ATC automation system for tower and approach sectors, at Jeju International Airport.
