Tern Systems have successfully completed a Site Acceptance Test (SAT) for the new ATC Tower and Approach System installed at Adisucipto International Airport in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

The system in Yogyakarta is Tern’s second system in Indonesia. Tern’s ATC System has been in operation in Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan since 2012.

The Yogyakarta ATC System consists of 11 working positions in tower and approach configuration. A built-in Arrival Manager (AMAN) is embedded into the operators’ radar display. The system incorporates recording and playback facilities from Ricochet.

Prior to the SAT, Tern Systems completed an on-site training of 28 air traffic controllers and 10 technicians.

AirNav Indonesia, the state-owned Indonesian Flight Navigation Service Provider, is responsible for providing all air traffic control services across the Indonesian Flight Information Region (FIR).

The Adisucipto International Airport is the 8th busiest airport in Indonesia. The airport has been undergoing redevelopment to meet the rapidly increasing traffic.
